The exhibition delves into Cayman Islands slavery, from the abduction of 3.1 million Africans to the Middle Passage. Jamaican slaves arrived in 1734, shaping society through timber. Resistance, like that of Celia Long, emerged. Emancipation came in 1834, but oppression persisted through the Apprenticeship System. The exhibit highlights resilience and the fight for freedom.
